Butterless Eggless Chocolate Cake
INGREDIENTS
- 1.5 cup whole wheat flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- Pinch of salt
- 1/2 cup tutti fruity
- 1/2 cup water
- 3/4 cup jaggery/cane sugar
- 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
- 3 tablespoon curd/yoghurt
- Half teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 cup oil (any neutral flavoured vegetable oil) or melted butter
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
PREPARATION
- Sift whole wheat flour, baking powder, salt. Mix tutti fruity in it.
- In a bowl mix jaggery powder and water. Once the jaggery is dissolved add oil and vanilla.
- Take a small bowl, add curd, vinegar and baking soda. Let the mixture froth.
- Now add all the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and fold well.
- In a greased and dusted cake pan, pour the batter.
- Preheat oven for 350 F, bake the cake for 40-50 minute or until a tooth pick comes out clean.
- Let the cake cool. Decorate with cherries and icing.
Notes
- You can add 1/2 cup of pitted fresh cherries.
- You can melt the jaggery in water and filter before using to prevent impurities.
- I used canola oil .
- You can use half all purpose flour (maida) and half whole wheat flour.
