INGREDIENTS
- 2 Whole wheat flour (or 1 cup whole wheat flour and 1 cup all purpose flour)
- 1 pack active yeast
- 1/4 parmesan cheese grated (optional)
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 3/4 warm water
- 2 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon oil
- Crushed tomatoes or pizza sauce
- Topping (red onion, pepper or any topping of choice)
- Cheese Grated
- Chilly flakes and oregano as required
PREPARATION
- In a mixing bowl, combined flour, salt and parmesan cheese (if using).
- Take a small bowl, mix active yeast with warm water and sugar. Let the yeast proof for 5 minutes (you will see bubbles in the mixture if the yeast is active, if not use another batch of yeast)
- Pour the yeast mixture in the flour and make a dough.
- Divide the dough in small ball and roll into about 10 inch rounds. Try to roll into even thickness rather than perfect round shape.
- Place it on a greased pizza baking sheet. Spread canned crushed tomatoes or pizza sauce (make sure to drain the water). Add on toppings of choice. I added red onions and peppers (I pan fried them a little in oil until soft). Generously spread grated cheese.
- Preheat oven at 450 degree F. Bake for 12-15 minutes.
- Season with chilly flakes, pepper and oregano. Serve hot.
