Easy Whole Wheat Pizza From Scratch

Easy whole wheat pizza dough recipe. You will never buy pizza base again :-)

Ingredients
  

  • 2 Whole wheat flour or 1 cup whole wheat flour and 1 cup all purpose flour
  • 1 pack active yeast
  • 1/4 parmesan cheese grated optional
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 3/4 warm water
  • 2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • Crushed tomatoes or pizza sauce
  • Topping red onion, pepper or any topping of choice
  • Cheese Grated
  • Chilly flakes and oregano as required

Instructions
 

  • In a mixing bowl, combined flour, salt and parmesan cheese (if using).
  • Take a small bowl, mix active yeast with warm water and sugar. Let the yeast proof for 5 minutes (you will see bubbles in the mixture if the yeast is active, if not use another batch of yeast)
  • Pour the yeast mixture in the flour and make a dough.
  • Divide the dough in small ball and roll into about 10 inch rounds. Try to roll into even thickness rather than perfect round shape.
  • Place it on a greased pizza baking sheet. Spread canned crushed tomatoes or pizza sauce (make sure to drain the water). Add on toppings of choice. I added red onions and peppers (I pan fried them a little in oil until soft). Generously spread grated cheese.
  • Preheat oven at 450 degree Bake for 12-15 minutes.
  • Season with chilly flakes, pepper and oregano. Serve hot.
