INGREDIENTS
- 1 big sweet potato boiled
- 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 1/2 tablespoon carom seeds
- 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1 tablespoon red chilly powder
- 1/2 teaspoon cumin powder
- 1 tablespoon coriander powder
- 1/4 teaspoon hing
- 1/2 teaspoon garam masala
- 1 teaspoon amchur powder ( Dry mango powder)
- Salt to taste
- 1 tablespoon ghee for dough plus extra for making roti (optional)
- One and half cup whole wheat flour
- 1 tablespoon coriander leaf chopped
- 1 green chilly chopped
PREPARATION
- In a mixing bowl take boiled and peeled sweet potato and mash it well with the help of a fork.
- Add all the spices, cumin seeds, carom seeds, chopped green chilly and coriander leaf to the mashed potatoes and mix well.
- Finally, add whole wheat flour, salt to taste and 1 tablespoon ghee.
- Make a soft dough. I didn’t use water but you you can use 1-2 table spoon of water or oil if the dough is very dry.
- Divide the dough into small balls.
- Make thin roti using a rolling pin.
- Heat a flat pan and cook both the sides of the roti, until some golden brown spots appear. You can also use some ghee ( clarified butter ) or oil to cook roti.
- Serve hot with pickle or raita.
