Quick Sooji Ka Halwa

Sooji ka halwa is a classic Indian sweet dish made up of semolina. Its is quick, easy and delicious. It is mainly made during festivals or auspicious day. Or just a quick fix for late night sweet cravings 🙂

- 1/2 cup sooji (semolina)
- 1/4 cup sugar Adjust according to liking
- 1/2 tsp cardomom powder
- 4 tablespoon dry fruits cashewnuts, almonds, raisins
- 1/4 cup ghee (clarified butter)
- 1 cup water
In a thick bottomed pan, melt ghee. Once the ghee is melted, roast sooji evenly until the colour changes to light golden brown. Add cardamom powder and mix well.
Meanwhile, in a pan boil water and sugar until sugar is dissolved completely.
Add the sugar solution to the roasted sooji while mixing well. Keep stirring until sooji becomes thick and leaves the edges of the pan.
In a small pan fry dry fruits until golden brown. Add fried dry fruits to the halwa.
- Recipe can be doubled.
- Can use less or more sugar and ghee as per liking.
