Perfect Fluffy And Soft Poori Recipe – Vegan Indian Bread
INGREDIENTS
- 2 cup whole wheat flour
- 1 cup maida or all purpose flour
- 1/4 cup rava/semolina
- Salt to taste
- 1 cup spinach puree (made by 3-4 cups of spinach leaves or a medium bunch of spinach)
- Oil for deep frying plus 4 tablespoon hot oil for making dough
- 1 teaspoon ajwain / carom seeds (optional)
- 1 teaspoon sesame seeds (optional)
PREPARATION
- In a pan boil water, once the water starts to boil, add spinach leaves. Boil for a minute or until the stems are soft.
- Remove the leaves from the water and transfer in cold water.
- Remove the leaves from water and blend into puree. You can add one green chilly while blending if you want.
- Now take whole wheat flour , all purpose flour, semolina, salt in a bowl.
- Add 4 tablespoon hot oil and mix well. Now make a soft dough by adding little water at a time.
- Rest the dough for 20 -30 minutes.
- After 30 minutes, make small balls from the dough.
- Roll them into thin puris, using a rolling pin.
- Heat oil for deep frying, fry the puri on medium flame, until both the sides are crisp.
- Serve hot with potato or any curry.
