PREPARATION

  • Heat a pan and melt ghee in it. Fry makhana in ghee until crispy.
  • Let the fried makhana cool. Take it in a ziplock and crush using a rolling pin.
  • Take the crushed makhana in heavy bottom pan, add milk and boil on low flame.
  • Once the milk starts boiling add sugar or condensed milk. Condensed milk gives a better taste. Cook for 5 more minutes.
  • Add cardamom powder and chopped dry fruits.
  • Garnish with dry fruits. Serve hot or chilled.

  • 1 cup phool makhana / fox nuts / popped lotus seeds
  • 2 cup milk full fat
  • 4 tablespoon sweetened condensed milk or sugar adjust as required
  • 5-10 almonds chopped
  • 1 tablespoon ghee
  • 1/4 teaspoon cardamom powder
