INGREDIENTS
- 2 cup bhindi chopped into 1-2 inch piece
- 1/3 cup besan flour / gram flour
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic paste
- Salt to taste
- 1 cup bread crumbs
- 1/2 teaspoon red chilly powder
- 1/2 teaspoon coriander powder
- 1/4 teaspoon roasted cumin seed powder
- 1/2 teaspoon chat masala (optional)
- 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
PREPARATION
- In a bowl make a smooth batter with besan/ chickpea flour, water, garlic paste and salt.
- Wash, dry and chop bhindi/okra into 1-2 inch pieces.
- For breading, take bread crumbs, spices and salt in another bowl.
- Coat the bhindi/okra pieces with the batter evenly.
- Now transfer the coated pieces into the breading bowl, make sure there is no excess batter while you transfer. Coat bread crumbs evenly on all the sides of the bindi/okra.
- Arrange the pieces on a baking tray lined with parchment paper.
- Bake at 400F for 25 minutes. ( You can also spray some oil on breaded bhindi /okra before baking for more crispiness).
- Serve hot.
