5 Favourite Books By Eric Carle For Toddlers

5 FAVOURITE TODDLER BOOKS BY ERIC CARLE - SINISCOLLECTION

1. THE VERY HUNGRY CATERPILLAR

No wonder why this book is one of the bestselling toddler books. Eric Carle’s illustrations are so colourful and appealing. A loved this book and we read it almost everyday. This book teaches a lot of things-

  • Everything is good in moderation.
  • Change is good.
  • Try new things.
  • Eat healthy to avoid stomach ache 😛

Some how the book is repetitive to me and there are chances that kids specially toddler think that eating unhealthy is ok.

2. BROWN BEAR, BROWN BEAR, WHAT DO YOU SEE?

Another great work by Eric Carle. It is such an engaging books for toddlers. Illustrations are again fantastic and so colourful. I loved the fact that each animal is different in colour, like blue horse and purple cat, which brings a nice twist in story telling. There is also a hidden meaning in this book- “People you think are watching you aren’t actually watching you. It is you doing all the watching”.

And again the only thing didn’t like it is quit repetitive and maybe a blue horse is a lot to digest for a toddler.

3. POLAR BEAR, POLAR BEAR WHAT DO YOU SEE?

A found this book extremely funny because of all the funny animal sounds like snort, hiss, bray etc. This my favourite “Brown Bear” sequel.

4. MY VERY FIRST BOOK OF FOOD

This is definitely not a very first food book, as its a split page book and you need to match the animal with it’s favourite food. But my toddler loves this books and it keeps him engage. Overall a good and different reading experience for toddlers.

Only thing I didn’t like is stereotyping the food habits of animals.

5. ERIC CARLE’S OPPOSITES

This book teaches fundamentals of opposites in Eric Carle’s unique Style. It is a flap book and my toddler enjoys lifting the flap to see the opposite word or picture.

Only negative point is that it is not a board book and the flaps can be ripped easily.
