How To Make Ammini Kozhukattai

Equipment

  • Idli Cooker or Steamer

Ingredients
  

  • 1/2 cup rice flour
  • 1/2 cup water
  • Salt to taste
  • 3-4 tablespoon grated coconut
  • 1 spring of curry leaf
  • 1/4 teaspoon mustard seeds
  • 1 dried red chilly
  • 2 teaspoon oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon urad dal

Instructions
 

  • In a bowl, take rice flour, salt to taste and add boiled water slowly, while mixing with a spoon.
  • Now using hand make a smooth dough.
  • You can also add few drops of ghee to make the dough soft.
  • Make 15-20 small balls with the dough and place them in the idli plates.
  • Steam the balls in the idli cooker for around 10-15 minutes.
  • Switch off and let it cool.
  • Heat oil in a pan, pop mustard seeds, urad dal, dry red chilly (optionaand curry leaves.
  • Add the grated coconut and cook until nice aroma comes.
  • Now add the steamed rice balls.
  • Mix well and coat the balls with the masala. Adjust Salt.
  • Serve ammini kozhukattai as breakfast or snack.
