INGREDIENTS
- 1 cup urad dal
- 1 cup curd/ plain yoghurt
- 1 green chilly
- 1/2 teaspoon ginger paste
- 1/2 teaspoon chat masala
- 1/2 red chilly powder
- 1/2 cumin powder
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 tablespoon masala peanut
- 1 tablespoon bondi or sev
- 1 tablespoon green chutney
- 1 tablespoon tamarind/ imli chutney
- Coriander /cilantro leaf
PREPARATION
- To make vada soak urad dal for at least 3-4 hours.
- Grind soaked dal with one green chilly, ginger and very little water.
- Heat oil in a pan and fry vadas until golden brown.
- Soak vadas in a bowl of water for 30 minutes.
- Meanwhile beat 1 cup of dahi/curd with chat masala, chilly powder, cumin powder, sugar and salt.
- After 30 minutes of soaking, take each vada and squeeze out the excess of water gently.
- For assembling dahi vada, take 2-3 vadas in a bowl pour curd on the top of it. Garnish with green chutney, tamarind/imli chutney, masala peanut, sev/bondi and coriander leaf. Serve chilled.
