Easy Prawns Curry - Era Kozhambu

Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups (500 gram) prawns mini or medium size
  • 1/2 cup onion chopped
  • 1/2 cup oil
  • 4 garlic cloves paste
  • 1/2 cup tomato chopped
  • 2 teaspoon ginger paste
  • 1 spring of curry leaves
  • 1/2 cup coconut grated
  • 2 tablespoon tamarind
  • 1 teaspoon mustard seeds
  • 4 red chillies dried sookhi lal mirch
  • 3 teaspoon coriander seeds dhaniya
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • Salt to taste

Instructions
 

  • To make easy prawn curry, first grind dry chillies, coriander seeds and turmeric to a paste.
  • Heat oil in a pan, add curry leaves mustard seeds, ginger garlic paste and onions. Saute for a while.
  • Add the ground paste. Cook for 5 minutes. Mix in tomatoes, tamarind pulp and salt.
  • Now, add prawns, after the first boil lower the flame for 10 minutes or until prawns are cooked.
  • Garnish with coconut and fried curry leaves.
  • Serve hot with rice, paratha, naan or roti.
