INGREDIENTS
- 1 large onion thinly sliced
- 1/2 cup gram flour/besan
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon red chilly powder (optional)
- 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder (optional)
- Oil for frying
PREPARATION
- Make a thick batter with besan(gram flour), spices, salt and water.
- Add finely sliced onion in the batter.
- Heat oil in a deep frying pan. Fry 2-3 bhajis /fritters at a time.
- Cook for few minutes and flip until evenly browned and crisp (3-4 minutes).
- Serve hot with tomato ketchup, green chutney or sprinkle lemon juice and chat masala.
NOTES
- Fry in piping hot oil to prevent soggy bhajis/ fritters.
- If batter becomes watery add few tablespoons of besan(gram flour/rice flour/rawa or cream of wheat)
