Quick Pyaz Bhaji – Onion Fritters

Sini'scollections crispy onion fritter / pyaz bhaji ready to eat with hot coffee/tea.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 large onion thinly sliced
  • 1/2 cup gram flour/besan
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon red chilly powder (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder (optional)
  • Oil for frying

PREPARATION

  1. Make a thick batter with besan(gram flour), spices, salt and water.
  2. Add finely sliced onion in the batter.
  3. Heat oil in a deep frying pan. Fry 2-3 bhajis /fritters at a time.
  4. Cook for few minutes and flip until evenly browned and crisp (3-4 minutes).
  5. Serve hot with tomato ketchup, green chutney or sprinkle lemon juice and chat masala.

NOTES

  • Fry in piping hot oil to prevent soggy bhajis/ fritters.
  • If batter becomes watery add few tablespoons of besan(gram flour/rice flour/rawa or cream of wheat)
