INGREDIENTS
- 1 cup rajma / kidney bean
- 2 onion medium size chopped
- 3 tomato medium size chopped
- 1 tablespoon garlic paste
- 1 tablespoon ginger paste
- 2 bay leaf
- 2 cardamom
- 4 cup water
- 2 black cardamom
- 1 dried red chilly
- 1/2 teaspoon cumin powder
- Salt to taste
- 1/2 coriander powder
- 1/2 red chilly powder
- 2 teaspoon rajma masala
- 2 tablespoon oil
PREPARATION
- Soak rajma in water for 4-6 hour or overnight. Boil soaked rajma in pressure cooker for 4-5 whistles.
- In a pan heat oil , add bay leaf, green cardamom, black cardamom, dried red chilly. Fry until colour changes and nice aroma comes.
- Add onion and cook until golden brown. Once the onions are done add ginger garlic paste and cook until the raw smell is gone.
- Now, add all the spice powders and cook for 1 minute.Lower the flame before adding spice powders, to prevent burning of spices. Finally, add chopped tomatoes and cook until tomatoes are soft and oil leaves from the sides.
- Add boiled rajma with the water, adjust salt and bring it to boil.
- Garnish with coriander leaf. Drizzle ghee or butter (optional). Serve hot with rice, roti or naan.
