My little one’s birthday <3 Now, I know why parents go crazy in excitement thinking about the first birthday of their little one. It is very special day because first day is the hardest of all. First going through the 9 months of excitement and worrying about delivering safe, then all the sleepless nights, feeding, diaper changes, why shouldn’t we celebrate this milestone both for the baby and the caregivers.
We always wanted a cozy intimate birthday celebration for our son’s celebration. Also, there was a bigger reason to keep it low as Kerala was going through the worst of all floods and many people losing their lives and homes.
The cake was vegan vanilla pineapple cake. It was from Rashmi’s Bakery, Mississauga. I would highly recommend this bakery if you are looking for fondant or customized vegan cakes. It was very easy to customize the colours on the cake, flavour and delivery. We wanted a cute little lion on a pastel blue cake symbolizing our little “Leo” boy. I must say I was nervous about the the cake but it was just as I wanted and imagined- Very neat, simple, cute and yummy!!
We took some fun pictures of him in his crib. We didn’t spend any money on photo shot or photographer. This simple and soft cotton shirt is from H&M kids.
All we wanted was good on his birthday was good wishes and blessings for him.
I made this DIY invitation card but didn’t use it at last moment.
Some wooden toys from Ikea wrapped in simple recycled brown paper for him.
Return gift included hand painted thank you note, chocolates and candle.
I used this cute burlap bags to wrap the candle.
I used water colours to paint these cute balloons.
Yes it was a big ONE.
Painted them when the little one goes to sleep. Finding time and energy to do something was the hardest thing after having baby.
This is not the best picture of him but I like his smile and innocence in this 🙂
